Italian speaker manufacturer Sonus Faber has partnered with IsoAcoustics on a new ultra-high-end speaker system, Suprema. This model promises to deliver a supreme, ‘unsurpassed’ sonic experience. The full-range system consists of two ten-driver columns in the signature Sonus Faber lute shape, originally introduced with Guarneri in 1993. Two subwoofers complete the design.

Sonus Faber has also elevated their system by working with IsoAcoustics. To avoid any interferences impacting the quality of its 16-40 kHz range, IsoAcoustics worked on an innovative, integrated suspension system for Suprema.

The multi-level suspension system between the cabinet and baseplate in the towers and subwoofers means no resonance from supporting structures. IsoAcoustics patented GAIA-Capsule isolators are designed to decouple devices, meaning they do not make contact and keep the pure sonic vibrations contained and untainted.

The system also features IsoAcoustics’ GAIA-Capsule technology. The acoustic isolation means the sound is not negatively impacted by foreign frequencies, ultimately removing the threat of smeared or blurred sound.

“We used to have a decoupling system outside of the main body, but that solution with exposed springs or elastomers was always a compromise for us,” IsoAcoustic’s Chief Design Officer Livio Cucuzza explains. “With Suprema we wanted to keep the design cleaner and more integrated. We had the opportunity to develop a system with IsoAcoustics that is part of the main structure.”

“IsoAcoustics achieve this great performance in the mid-high frequencies where everything becomes clearer without losing dynamics on bass,” Livio explains. “IsoAcoustics is more precise, more refined, and everything in the soundstage is more clearly localized. We are really happy with the results.”

The release of the Suprema system also marks Sonus Faber’s 40th anniversary. It comes in a customisable range of wood and leather finishes.

The Lumina II Amator and Lumina V Amator speakers feature technical improvements while staying true to the Sonus faber minimalist aesthetic. The Lumina II Amator is a two-way shelf loudspeaker system with a vented box design and the Lumina V Amator is a three-way floorstanding loudspeaker system also with a vented box design.

The speakers feature a D.A.D. (Damped Apex Dome) tweeter, the same used in the Sonetto series, featuring a Kurtmueller hand-coated soft silk diaphragm of 29mm. A 4-in mid-woofer equipped with a custom-made basket and the diaphragm featuring cellulose pulp blended with other natural fibres was designed specifically.

The 5-in midranges are based on Sonetto designs, featuring Sonus faber’s proprietary natural fibre and paper blend air-dried diaphragm and 5-in woofers, designed from scratch for this collection and featuring a paper pulp cone, creating sonic coherence with the rest for the drivers

The speakers have been updated with new technology increasing the Lumina II Amator’s frequency of the crossover network up to 2600 Hz, with an 800 Hz difference compared to Lumina II while the Lumina V Amator’s frequency of the crossover is now up to 2850 Hz, with a +250 Hz difference compared to Lumina V.

Many of the solutions adopted by the new special models are derived from those of the Amati G5 and Guarneri G5, such as the IFF circuitry and the phase coherent philosophy, which ensures perfect rendering of the virtual soundstage in three dimensions.

Hi-Fi systems are designed to faithfully reproduce music, capturing the subtle nuances, intricate details, and dynamic range of the original recording. This meticulous approach involves using high-quality components, such as premium speakers, amplifiers, and digital-to-analog converters, to ensure the utmost accuracy in sound reproduction. Sonus Faber has launched Aster, its first-ever outdoor speaker. Sleek in design and appropriate for Alfrescos. The black- or white-finished Aster is rather more muted in appearance than the company’s famously striking wooden loudspeaker designs.

Designed to bring music beyond the walls of a home, including in public spaces such as restaurants, hotels, and museums, it also fits the outdoor speaker briefly by being IP65 certified, meaning it should be dust-tight and protected against water projected from a nozzle.

Sonus Faber has aimed to make the debut outdoor speaker easy to install – even for outdoor speaker novices – via a mounting bracket system that facilitates the tilting of the speaker in 15-degree increments without having to more labouringly adjust it with a screw.

The Italian brand says that the Aster’s two symmetrically positioned passive radiators enable it to deliver “rich bass immersion” and a “surreal listening experience”.

The Sonus Faber Aster is available to order now from £375 / $450, at the ISE 2023 show in Barcelona alongside the company’s new Arena flagship range of custom-install speakers and its older Palladio CI models.

Sonus faber, the Italian speaker company famed for its distinctive and attractive designs, has unveiled a stunning all-in-one wireless music system that employs digital signal processing (DSP) and a seven-speaker array to provide “mesmerizing three-dimensional sound.”

The $1,999 Omnia, which will be released in March, is far less expensive than the $12,000 SF16 system, which was unveiled in 2016, but has since been discontinued. The Omnia appears to be a far more practical speaker. The walnut-lighted top panel included in the launch-unit, incorporates a particular Italian design flair that manages both industrial and hand-crafted look. Later this year, a version with a graphite top panel will be available.

Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Bluetooth aptX HD, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi are just a few of the wireless options. The system is Roon Ready and works with Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect.

The Omnia comes with a Mini-DIN analog input that alternates between phono and line input as well as a Mini-DIN-to-RCA adaptor cable if wired connections are needed. To utilise the speaker with a television, an HDMI ARC input is provided. A 10/100 Mbps ethernet port is also included.

The Omnia weighs 16.75 pounds and measures 5.12 x 25.6 x 11 inches (HxWxD). A touch-sensitive interface, for controlling the system, is located on the device’s top. Users can tell which input is selected, streaming service is active, and the current volume, by merely glancing at the pattern of the lights on the touch-sensitive surface. Also, a more traditional remote with labelled controls is available.

The system combines a down-firing 6.5-inch aluminium long-throw woofer and a pair of 1.75-inch full-range drivers with non-press cellulose-pulp inverted domes with two stereo driver complements, each consisting of a 0.75-inch silk-dome tweeter with a Neodymium slug structure magnet motor system and a 3-inch paper-cone midrange.

The system is stated to be able to reach a maximum sound pressure level of 108 dB (@1 metre) and play down to 30 Hz (–6dB), using 490 watts of power.

The manufacturer claims that its proprietary Crescendo signal processing combines with the full-range drivers on both ends of the Omnia Speaker to create a broad soundstage with a higher sense of dimensionality and immersivity, compared to the previous self-contained music systems.

According to Sonus Faber, the walnut finish will be available in March 2022 and the graphite finish later in the summer. To know more visit , https://www.sonusfaber.com/en/
