Inputs and Outputs

 Bryston offers the legendary BP-2 moving magnet (MM) phono stage circuit as an onboard option for the BP-19 preamp. Control Options

Many features of the BP-19 can be easily controlled using included infrared remote. Each of the six analog inputs has corresponding buttons on the remote as well as on the front panel of the preamp. HEX codes are also available for use with a universal-style remote control. The BP-19 preamplifier can be controlled remotely using RS232 or IP when connected to a smart home ecosystem via the RS232 or Ethernet ports on the rear panel. The BP-19 can also be remotely turned on or placed on standby, and trigger outputs can be used to power on/off other connected equipment, such as a power amplifier.

The BP-19 is available in five standard faceplate finishes, in 17 or 19-inch widths. 19-inch rack mounts for professional applications are also available. Powerful THX Speaker Set in a Compact Format

The renowned Miller & Kreisel brand is well known to movie connoisseurs and home theater enthusiasts, as speakers from M&K Sound offer top-notch movie sound. In studios worldwide, sound engineers appreciate the incorruptible, dynamic sound characteristics of M&K Sound products. 750 Series New Edition

For about 20 years, the 750 series has enjoyed great popularity. Due to further improved driver technologies from the bigger series, M&K has also decided to revise the compact 750 speakers from scratch. Therefore, in the current version of our 750 5.1 sets, the drivers have been improved in many details, and the crossover has been tuned accordingly. Thus, the compact speaker set can deliver even more precise, dynamic sound and guarantees sensational movie sound.

The about 40 centimeters high front speakers sport a sturdy, low-resonance design and feature an elegant protective grille made of finely perforated metal. The driver assembly consists of enormously powerful woofers with 110 mm fiberglass cones. Two units per speaker share the work and guarantee considerable power handling, high dynamics, and plenty of sound pressure. A new 28 mm dome tweeter with an improved waveguide is responsible for the high frequencies. It has been in- stalled at a slight angle to achieve more direct radiation to the listening position when the left and right speakers are positioned correctly. The center speaker is identically equipped. Since for a THX system, in principle, the subwoofer takes over from about 80 Hertz, and the satellites of the THX set do not have to provide any sound pressure below about 100 Hertz, the front speakers have closed cabinets for better impulse reproduction.

As befits a proper THX home theater set, real rear dipoles match the 750THX front systems for the desired diffuse surround sound. Strictly speaking, the Sur55T rear speakers are even tripoles because in addition to the two 76 mm wideband drivers in dipole arrangement, there is another 2-way system on the side facing the listening position as a direct radiator. For a powerful and profound bass reproduction, an M&K subwoofer named V12 comes into play in our test set. The name itself indicates a 12” chassis measuring 260 mm in diaphragm diameter, which is built into a closed cabinet with quite reasonable dimensions of 36 x 46 x 40 cm. A 300-watt amplifier module allows the robust chassis with its powerful magnetic drive to achieve genuinely outstanding performance. After all, it has to comply with the THX Select license, which places high demands on sound pressure, minimal distortion, and deep bass response.

The V12 subwoofer‘s approximately 300-watt amplifier module offers the standard level, phase, and crossover frequency adjustments. Unfortunately, the V12 does not feature a remote control or EQ setting.

There are still plenty of TV viewers who are still struggling with a lack of clarity in the vocal tracks due to underpowered TV speakers and Yamaha reckons it’s got the perfect solution for this with its two new slimline, easy to set up soundbars. The benefits will stretch to games and music too.

The SR-C20 is a brand new design at the entry point of the Yamaha’s compact soundbar offerings and, at just 600mm long and 64mm high, it is designed to fit into environments where space is limited, for example at games stations and in bedrooms, offices and playrooms. The low profile ensures that the TV is not obscured in any way and the speakers include two full range drivers and a subwoofer handling a total of 100W along with two passive radiators. The use of passive radiators is quite unusual in compact soundbars but helps to deliver a surprising amount of bass from the smaller footprint. 

Connectivity for the C20 includes an HDMI-ARC port, two optical inputs and an analog stereo mini input for gaming consoles and other portable devices. 

Meanwhile, the SR-B20 delivers its 120W of power via two tweeters and two woofers. It also includes two subwoofers which have been redesigned for richer, clearer bass and for those who really like their bottom end, there’s an additional sub out, so extra low end can be added.

At 910mm wide and 53mm tall the B20 is longer and slimmer than its more compact stable mate but they can both be wall mounted using the built-in keyholes without the need for an additional bracket. The B20 is covered with a sleek, deep black fabric and has larger, dimmable LEDs for visibility when making adjustments and changing settings.

The B20 has a similar set of connections to the C20 and both feature Bluetooth 5.0 which allows multi-point functionality to switch between devices, including Alexa.

Each soundbar has a selection of user customizable sound modes (standard, stereo, game, movie) as well as a virtual surround mode. Here, the SR-C20A can handle Dolby Audio surround while the SR-B20A steps up to DTS Virtual:X to help recreate the impression of 3D audio to impart even more realism into movies and games.

In addition to these sound modes, both bars bring to bear Yamaha’s established Clear Voice technology which enhances dialogue clarity by only increasing the volume of human voices.

Along with control by an existing TV remote (when connected via HDMI), each sound bar comes with its own remote and is supported by the Sound Bar Controller App for smartphone control. Easy access buttons on top of the SR-C20 and SR-B20 allow for quick control of volume levels, sound modes and input selection on the units themselves.
